It took me over a year, but I finally developed and scanned several rolls of film from a road trip that I took New Year's Eve 2011. Taking a last minute road trip definitely tops my list of best ways to celebrate New Years.

A friend and I started our trip by driving to Notch Peak, an area that neither of us had been and apparently is not easy to find in the dark. We eventually set up the tent at the base of what we thought was the peak, but really had no idea because it was far too dark to see anything. From the photos that I have seen of Notch Peak, we definitely did not make it to the right place. Instead, we woke up to the image below. I remember feeling amazed as I opened the tent because I had no idea what was surrounding us as we drove through the night. I grabbed my camera to remember the soft light and the feeling of that early morning. 

My diet has consisted of this and pumpkin cookies for weeks. I think I am addicted. Can't complain really.

I bought a brownie tonight from a coffee shop that apparently was made with espresso in it. The barista informed me of this after I finished my first brownie and I went to buy a second because of how addciting the first one was. She told me the secret. So it is now 2:16 a.m. and I see no signs of sleeping. I figured I would pass the time with a post.

I spent the weekend in Las Vegas to do a little climbing and to photograph a good friend of mine. She lives right on the strip and has quite the view. 

I am getting excited to try skiing out again.

A couple of weeks ago, I took a road trip to Smith Rock in Oregon to rock climb. That place is absolutely beautiful and the climbing was so much fun. I am grateful to have a climbing partner who is up for whatever crazy notion I throw at him.

I spent the weekend rock climbing and camping in Moab with a couple of awesome friends. We climbed, ate, and sat around the fire for three days. It was not nearly long enough. 

This place is absolutely amazing. I loved photographing the food and the restaurant. Everything is presented so beautifully and tastes just as good. Check it out; you wont be disappointed.

I recently moved out of my house and took some photos to remember the place. The house was built in the late 1800's and the back, where I lived, was added on in the early 1900's. The place was the perfect little place. I am longing for a place to call my own again...

A couple of months ago, I took a month long road trip to the Northwest. One of my stops was to see my good friend Galen in Bellingham, WA. He showed me all around the town of Bellingham and took me to the beach. We even drove to Canada for breakfast (the border patrol found this very fishy). Minus the very cold weather, I had an awesome time with Galen.  

I did my first backpacking trip this summer with a good friend. It was not what I would have imagined a typical backpacking trip to be. We had a bit of a late start...8 hours late, which left us starting at sunset and hiking in the dark with headlamps. We also had a minor shortage of water and then found that key parts of the water purifier were missing. In the end, we learned that I require a lot of water, how to strain bug infested water through tea bags, and that Tofu Pups are definitely not the way to go for vegetarian hotdogs. For me, it is things like these, that make a trip. I'd do it again.

I spent the weekend rock climbing at City of Rocks. Amazing climbs, delicious food, and great company; it was perfect. I already want to go back.
